May Kelly's Cottage Bar & Restaurant

About May Kelly's Cottage

Welcome Chickens!

We are Marie and Patsy McArdle, owners and proprietors of May Kelly’s Cottage. We are from the Wee County (County Louth), Ireland–Marie from Dundalk, Patsy from Drogheda.

In the fall of 2004, we opened May Kelly’s Cottage in North Conway, New Hampshire as a traditional Irish bar and restaurant named in honor of Patsy’s grandmother, May Kelly.

We truly hope you enjoy the experience we’ve created for you in our cottage. We’ve decorated every square inch of the walls and ceilings with old antiques and signs we’ve collected over the years–some of which date back to the 1800s–all of which have stories.

One of my (Marie) favorite pieces is a needlepoint sampler which was sewn by a 12 year old girl named Margaret Houlihan while aboard an immigrant ship headed for America. My favorite (Patsy) is a plaque given to me by my father commemorating his Gaelic football team in 1950.

Come hungry and leave happy. Thank you ever so much for visiting!

In Ireland, many of the traditional Irish pubs are separated into “rooms”. We brought that tradition to our cottage. Tour the rooms below, we hope to see you in person soon!
